From The
Pastor | Happy Mother's Day!
I suspect that some of you are here today as a gift to Mom for all that
she means to you. After the service is completed, you may be willing
to fight the crowds so that the honored person isn't the one preparing the
meal! However you may be celebrating the day, may it be with all of the
respect and honor due to those who have given so much of themselves in
order to bear us and sustain us. There is, truly, no one like you.
As school winds down and summer approaches, there
are some things I trust you will keep in mind. Vacation Bible school has
been mentioned practically every Sunday on the back of the bulletin. if
you are helping with the effort, bless you, and if not, please pray that
these lives will be touched. A great deal of effort goes into the planning
and execution of the week. Thanks to Carolyn Cross for her willingness to
be VBS director AGAIN this year!
The last weekend in July will be the time for our
upcoming revival services. Rev. Tom Popelka, of Temple, will be our
evangelist for the weekend. I have known Tom for fifteen years, and cannot
think of a man who has more of a walk with God. We will start on a Friday
evening, and go through Sunday evening. Will you make every effort to
arrange your schedule so that you can be present? Also, pray for all that
will go on during the weekend, that the lost will come to know the Savior,
and His church will be revived..
I am so glad to be your
pastor! Bro. Gordon
